OK, anyone who knows me knows what a huge advocate of the law of attraction I am...
Wayne Dyer, David Hamilton, Louise Hay, Ralph Smart, Abraham Hicks, Alan watts, Osho, Rumi, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Ekhart Tolle, Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carey and countless others speak and write about it at great length, and they are all hugely inspirational...
'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne absolutely changed my life, and I listened to the audio book and watched the film on numerous occassions! 'What the bleep do we know' and 'What the Bleep do we know - down the rabbit hole' are absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt two of the most important and life changing documentaries that anyone could ever see.
There are also multitudes of Ted talks and youtube videos that talk about the power of positive thought, mind over matter, and how to manifest the life you want!
This isn't just an airy fairy concept thought up by spiritual gurus or new age thinkers, new experiments in Quantum physics are beginning to back up what spiritual teachers have taught for millenia... And the basic principle is this... What we focus our energy on, we attract into our lives...
With this in mind, I would like to introduce to you a challenge that I came across recently, you may have already heard of it... it's called the 100 Happy Days Challenge... Here is an excerpt from their website:
"What?
We live in times when super-busy schedules have become something to boast about. While the speed of life increases, there is less and less time to enjoy the moment that you are in. The ability to appreciate the moment, the environment and yourself in it, isthe base for the bridge towards long term happiness of any human being.
71% of people tried to complete this challenge, but failed quoting lack of time as the main reason. These people simpy did not have time to be happy. Do you?
How? Plain simple!
Every day submit a picture of what made you happy!
It can be anything from a meet-up with a friend to a very tasty cake in the nearby coffee place, from a feeling of being at home after a hard day to a favor you didto a stranger.
#100happyday challenge is for you – not for anyone else.
It is not a happiness competition or a showing off contest. If you try to please / make others jealous via your pictures – you lose without even starting. Same goes for cheating.
So first you register in the challenge >here<, then choose your favorite platform for submitting pictures. Here you can decide yourself on the privacy of your participation & happy moments:
- Share your picture via facebook, twitter or instagram with a public hashtag #100happydays;
- Come up with your own hashtag to share your pictures with to limit publicity. (Don’t forget to tell us how to find your pictures though ;) )
- Simply send your pictures to myhappyday@100happydays.com to avoid any publicity.
And you’re ready to go! :) "
In many ways it is similar to creating a gratitude journal, or a happiness vision board. By searching out things that make you happy, you inevitably find more and more things every day that put a smile on your face. If not, you will begin actively seeking out experiences to make you happy when you are having a bad day! I think this is such a wonderful idea, and I am taking part!
I am using Instagram as my platform, (@holistic_holly) , and all of my images can be seen below! You can also follow me to follow my #100happydays journey! I'm using the Hashtag #100happydaysofhollycharles!
I hope that this inspires you to join the challenge! What's 5 minutes a day to bring a bit more happiness into your life?! If you do sign up, let me know, I would love to follow your journey, and see what it is that makes you happy! x
